Both have a hormonal effect on women’s bodies, which can lead to higher milk production. Fenugreek stimulates breast milk production by increasing the hormones prolactin and oxytocin. Furthermore, Blessed Thistle and Fenugreek are known to be two of the most popular galactagogues, which are herbs that boost breast milk flow. Nature’s Sunshine Breast Feeding Support is free from gluten, lactose, soy, starch, sugars or salt, wheat products, artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives. Each capsule contains:
- Trigonella foenum-graecum (Fenugreek) seed powder 300mg.
- Cnicus benedictus (Blessed thistle) herb powder 150mg.
No added gluten, lactose, soy, starch, sugars or salt, wheat products, artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives.
- Adults: Take two to three capsules twice daily with a large glass of water (250mL), or as professionally prescribed.
Not recommended during pregnancy due to potential emmenagogue properties of Blessed thistle. Odour of Fenugreek may be detected in the taste of breast milk but only if you exceed the recommended dosage. Monitor blood sugar levels with those patients taking other hypoglycaemic agents.
